Fitting:
Strapless
neckline – This neckline will enhance your
neck and shoulder area well
Square neckline – Shaped like a square, this neckline is wide. A wide neckline will help highlight the bust area.
Go for medium fitted clothes as it will help you highlight the waistline and enhance
your shoulder. Don’t wear tight clothes, you’ll look unshaped.
§ Colour:
Select bright and dark colours like yellow, vermilion, orange, tomato red
that will help you look in shape.
§ Tops:
Square neckline – Shaped like a square, this neckline is wide. A wide neckline will help highlight the bust area.
Sabrina
neckline – It is a wide and high neckline
that follows the curve of your collarbone. This will keep the attention on the
upper body.
Cowl
neckline – Whether deep or shallow, cowl
neckline helps to keep the bust and shoulder highlighted. Any length of sleeves
will work.
Avoid
wearing narrow and long necklines as this will slim the upper body.
§ Sleeves:
Depending on the length of the
sleeves, there are different styles.
For a short sleeve, wide and
enriched style will help gaining the volume to the upper body. Enrichments like
flared, puffed, flutter, bat-winged usually works well.
For a long sleeve, adding the
volume near the shoulders will work as the aim is to keep the volume around the
hip minimum. For adding volume near the shoulder you can use shoulder pads and
puffs.
§ Shirts:
Go for shirts that will help you
balance your upper body with the lower body.Bold
patterns, details and enrichments near the bust and shoulders will keep up the
attention. Tucking shirts into your bottoms will help enhance your curves.Wear
shirts and tops that end just at your hip line. Don’t go for longer shirts
Avoid having pockets near the
hip area as it will draw attention to your lower body. Basically, don’t use
enrichments on your lower body.
§ Jackets and Coats:
Similar
to shirts, to balance your shoulder area with the hip area you need to hang
jackets that are finishing below or above the hip area.
Short
jackets like cropped jacket will add volume to your shoulder and bust area.
It’ll allow you to show off your slim waist.
Long
coats and jackets ending at mid-thigh will make your body appear elongated and
slim, hiding the wide hip area.
Enrichments
near the bust and shoulder will again add volume. Try keeping the hip area
clean and uncluttered from pockets and enrichments.
Avoid
hanging jackets that finish right at your hip, highlighting the area.
Coats
with belts, empire line coats, princess coats looks adorable. Trench coats
works best for a pear shaped body.
Avoid
straight cut and boxy coats as they’ll make you look shapeless and undefined.
§ Jeans and Pants:
Plain, flat fronted, pleated,
full leg line and ankle length are best for pear shaped body.
Jeans and pants should be
straight, flare, boot-cut or trouser-cut. Try going for darker colours to avoid
gaining attention on lower body.Jeans
and pants with mid to high waist works well as it will define your waist line.
Whereas low waist bottoms will enhance the hip making your body look
unbalanced.
Try not to go for narrow fitted
jeans or trousers or pants. These would highlight your lower body.
§ Skirts:
Skirts are the best way to hide
the lower body. The right skirt will make you look slim, depending on the
length and style of skirt.
Wear skirts with knee length and
longer. This will help you look stretched and slim. Just like jeans and pants, skirts
should be mid to high waisted.
Avoid going for full length
skirts and enrichments as this will exaggerate the lower body shape.
§ Dresses and Gowns:
Your dresses should draw
attention on your waist hiding the lower body. Wear dresses that are wider at
bottom which will balance out your lower body.
1. A-line –
Fitted from the shoulder to waist and then widening, this type of dress will
highlight the shoulder area and balance the lower body.
2. X-line –
emphasising on shoulders with a small waist having the shape of letter ‘X’
enhances the shoulder area, curves the waist which makes the lower body almost
ignored.

Empire
line – This type of dress gives a high waist
appearance with a shirr long and loose skirt and still gives a definite look.
4.
Wrap
dress – This dress will give a V-neckline with a
definite waist line hiding the wideness of lower body and enhancing the upper
body.
§ Jumpsuits:
To add volume to the upper body,
jumpsuits with patterns and long sleeves and a strapless neckline will show off
your shoulder area, balancing out the hip area.
Leg-wise, straight or flared
bottom will look lovely.
Avoid narrow bottoms and
neckline. And also don’t go for any enrichments on the bottoms.
